This weekend was a celebration of new beginnings. Our friends, the Engstroms, are preparing to move to Africa this week to serve on the mission field, and we are excited for them as they embark on their journey. Many of their friends gathered on Saturday to celebrate them and sned them off in prayer. It was a sweet time of celebrating their new beginning in a foreign land. Joe, Gavin, and I also had the opportunity to attend our Bradley birth class reunion and it was great fun meeting all of the babies (many of whom I had already met since the mamas have been meeting regularly) and congratulating all of the fathers. Each couple had the chance to share their birth story and talk about life with a baby. It was nice to be around so many people who are excited about their new place in life. It occurs to me that new beginnings often come at the end of a struggle, but aren't they worth the wait?
