So I don't forget

Just so I don't forget (pregnant brain), here are my pregnancy cravings to date:

  • See's Candy (a given if you've been reading my blog)
  • Nutmeg (usually sprinkled on a Starbuck's Gingerbread Latte)
  • Pineapple, oranges, and pears (specifically the pears from Harry & David)
  • Cinnamon roles
  • Indian food

What does this mean?? I haven't been craving my usual quota of chips and salsa, although I could definitely put a pound or so away, but my already high tolerance for spice is now off the charts. Nothing tastes very spicy to me, which is the only way I can explain polishing off an entire plate of chicken vindaloo without getting sick. I'll be interested to see what the Baby Boy likes to eat based on my very eclectic cravings.

I love spicy food and continued to eat it throughout my pregnancy, since it didn't have an adverse effect on me or Harrison. I also ate it while nursing. They say you baby will have more of an affinity for spices if you eat them while pregnant and nursing (given there are no side effects for baby...inside: lots of kicking and moving around, outside: gassiness, fussiness, etc.) Luckily, we had none.

Now days Harrison LOVES spicy green beans from Trader Joes - and they ARE spicy!
