Outta Here

In approximately two hours I am out of here for the weekend. It's time for our annual MLK weekend retreat with two other couples, the Bells (flying out from Atlanta) and the Krons (local). We've gathered each MLK weekend for approximately 12 years and it is nothing short of fabulous! We have a no-kids-allowed rule, so come 4 p.m. today, I will be a true grown-up for three whole days.

Ah, three days to hang out in sweats in a rental house, doing nothing but talking, eating, watching a video series from John Ortberg (the enrichment part), and drinking wine. Oh yeah, and watching the Bears in the playoffs and the Golden Globes. Sounds like heaven on earth, no? Believe me, we don't leave the house until Monday afternoon.

There's nothing like great friends to restore your sanity.
