He's Not a Baby Anymore!

What happened to my little baby? He's a big boy now...over three feet tall and 28 pounds or so. If I go an entire day without seeing him, he looks larger to me in the evening.

While I'm marveling over the growth of my child, I'll also update you that we are two doctor's appointments down and one to go with Gav's potential health issues. So far, we have been really happy with the outcomes. The eye doctor said that he does not have blocked tear ducts, but narrow tear ducts + allergies + astigmatism. The good news is that he doesn't have to have surgery, the okay news is that we need to bring him back in a year to see if he needs glasses.

We met with the surgeon about his abdominal hernia on Wednesday of this week and, again, the news was better than we anticipated. The doctor wants to see him again in six months to a year, just to see if Gavin's tummy is making any progress in closing on it's own. If he eventually needs minor surgery to repair the hernia, it won't be until he's four or five, so they are giving him some time.

Our final appointment for with the celiac specialist will be in a few weeks, after we return from our vacation in Utah. We're praying for a great outcome for the appointment as well, and I appreciate those of you who have let me know you are praying for Gavin. It means a lot and we really see it making a difference. Bring 'em on!

Laura, I had no idea that Gavin was dealing with all of this!! I will definitely be praying for him, the doctors, you and Joe! It's hard on parents especially - the kids don't now any better. So, prayers are going up! Love you guys! Tonya
